A multi-purpose drawing instrument is basically a pair of compasses, with two moulded plastics arms (12, 12') secured to one another at one end by a hing (13') one arm (12') carrying a pencil holder (18') with locking ring (20'), the other arm (12) carrying a point (23') and adjustment screw (24'). The two arms can be swung open to form a ruler or scale. The edges being shaped (101) and marked accordingly. The two arms are of hollow construction so that a pencil sharpener (27') on one arm can be housed, and the point (23') stowed safely. A window (106') in the end of one arm, near the pivot enables a scale on the other arm to be viewed, for use as a protractor. Cut-outs (111) can be made in one arm for tracing small circles.
|
