Pneumatic tyre having edges of tread region of different colour - and having side walls covered by facing layer

A pneumatic tyre having an extruded tread portion of elastomeric material, has the edge region of the tread portion formed of material of a different colour. An alastomeric facing annulus of a different colour to the edge region is attached to each side wall such that it overlaps the respective edge region. A heat junction between the side walls and the treat portion is achieved.
