<p>A flexible drill pipe partic. suitable for use in drilling offshore walls includes an inner hose with reinforcing inserts and >=2 outer sleeves bonded to the inserts. An inner supporting element at least partly located with an elastomer is secured via the reinforcing elements to each of the outer sleeves. These elements have frusto-conical surfaces and enable axial loads to be applied to the pipe without pressurising the interior of the pipe. At the coupling area of each inner supporting element the inner surface of the hose is pref. uniform dia. One of the outer sleeves is pref. located at the hose-end asymmetric to the inner supporting element, and is provided with a coupling element. The hose can be grasped in the space where the outer sleeve sections and the inner supporting element are lying when lifted from the bore side. A force of several tons can be exerted without applying an inner press. of several atmos. to avoid breakdown.</p> |
