PURPOSE:To let the light radiating from the luminous body of a reflection type light source be radiated at large solid angles with high efficiency by combining a concave mirror having ellipsoid of revolution and a concave mirror having hyperboloid of revolution. CONSTITUTION:The light source is constituted by a concave mirror 9 which has the shape of ellipsoid of revolution and has been applied with a reflecting film 7 on its inside surface, a concave mirror 11 which comprises having the shape of hyperboloid of revolution, having been applied with a reflecting film 9 on its inside surface and providing a window part 10 to a part of this reflecting film and the luminous body 13 provided in the position of the focus 12 common to these concave mirrors 8, 11. Out of the rays radiated from the filament 13 of these luminous bodies, the rays 16, 17 emitting to the back of the filament 13 reflect on the concave mirror 8, pass through the window 10 and are radiated in the direction of the second focus 18. The rays emitting to the front from the filament 13 pass directly through the window part 10 and are radiated to the outside. The rays emitting in other directions make 1 turn each and reflect on the concave mirrors 8, 11 and come back to the filament 13. These rays again contribute to the light radiation. In this way, the reflection type light source of high efficiency may be obtained. |
