<p>PURPOSE:To prepare the title enzymes useful for the production of maltose, economically, in an industrial scale, by culturing bacteria belonging to Bacillus genus and capable of producing beta-amylase and alpha-1,6-glucosidase, in a medium containing an organic nitrogen source, a manganess compound, and an ammonium salt. CONSTITUTION:Bacteria belonging to Bacillus genus and capable of producing beta- amylase and alpha-1,6-glucosidase simultaneously, e.g. Bacillus cereus var. mycoides FERM-P No,2391, are cultured in an organic nitrogen-containing nutrient medium containing (usually 1X10<-6> - 1X10<-3> M of) an organic or inorganic manganese compound such as manganese sulfate, manganese phosphate, manganess acetate, etc., and (usually 0.05-0.5M of) an ammonium salt such as ammonium chloride, ammonium phosphate, etc. After culturing, the insoluble matters are separated by centrifugal separation, to obtain a solution containing the title enzymes.</p> |
