PURPOSE:To avoid flickering in the display, by managing to plan how to re-display and erase the video, such as remaining the video during display as it is, if no difference is made between the content to be displayed from now and that displayed now. CONSTITUTION:The processor 5 prepares the information to display on the plasma display unit 1 to the buffer in the memory 4, and this information is arranged according to the display location of the display unit 1 via the interface 3, plasma display unit 2. The display unit 1 is of self-discharge type and can display the video without requiring the refresh memory, and the video displayed can be erased and re- displayed every other line. Further, a flag is set to the information which is stored in the buffer of the memory 4, the content to be displayed from now and that already displayed are compared. If there is no difference, the video under display is displayed as it is. If the difference is changed only the space of video, the new video is displayed with superposition, and in case of other differences, the present video is erased and the new video is displayed.
