PURPOSE:To perform the freeze-drying of a specific semi-synthetic penicillin, without melting, by keeping the penicillin within a specific temperature range during the constant rate period of drying. CONSTITUTION:Freeze-drying of an aqueous solution of 6-[D-(-)-alpha-(4-hydroxy- 1,5-naphthylidine-3-carboxamido)-alpha-(p-hydroxyphenyl)acetamidol]pen icillanic acid sodium salt, is carried out at a temperature between the eutectic point (-30 deg.C) and -10 deg.C during the constant rate period of drying. |
