The tool holder is retained by screws 10 upon the body 4 of a press ram 11 and is heated, to heat the cutting knives to a temperature at which the material 5 is rendered liquid, by a copper plate 7, the downwardly bent edges of which are heated by electric heaters 8 controlled by a thermostat 17. Transmission of the heat to the body 4 is prevented by an insulating layer 13 and a copper plate 14, the edges of which are cooled by channels 16 containing a coolant such as water or cold compressed air. Spring biased ejectors 12 are provided.</p> |
