PURPOSE:To obtain two half cages from one cage by dividing a cage into halves and pressing them by use of a forming die with semicircular concave surface of a prescribed external diameter dimension, a forming punch with semicircular convex surface of a prescribed internal diametric diemension and a setting die. CONSTITUTION:A cage 4 made in external diameter greater than prescribed is fixed to the fixture and divided into half cages 5, 5 by A'-A' through the axial line of the cylinder part. the setting device B is composed of a forming die 7 with a semicircular concave surface 6 finished to a prescribed external diametric dimension, a forming punch 9 with a semicircular convex surface finished to a prescribed internal diametric dimension d and a setting die 11 equipped to the forming punch 9 so as to come in contact with both end faces 10a, 10a of a half-divided cage of the prescribed dimension 10. By bringing the external circumferential surface of the half-divided cage 5 into contact with the concave surface 6 and pressing the half- divided cage 5 with the forming punch 9 and the setting die 11 the setting device B sets the half- divided cage. Thus two half-divided cages can be obtained from one cage.
