PURPOSE:To manufacture a high tensile steel chain, preventing loosening of studs assuredly, with high operation efficiency by forming a steel link material of lower transformation expansion coefficient due to hardening and a steel stud material of higher transformation expansion coefficient. CONSTITUTION:Links made of steel having a basic compsn. consisting of C<= 0.12%, Si<=0.5%, Mn; 1.5-3.5% and Cr; 0.2-2.0% are attached to studs made of steel contg. C; 0.15-0.33%, Si<=0.5% and Mn<=1.5% as basic components by use of a studding machine followed by compression forming, water cooling and hardening or hardening and tempering. At this time, the difference in transformation expansion coefficient between the links and studs acts as a strain in a direction in which the links compress the studs, and they bind completely to prevent loosening of the studs. |
