<p>Thermal economiser is arranged in a short cement kiln immediately above the furnace, i.e. at the material entry side and made of a highly refractory steel esp. as cast. The economiser consists of elements arranged in helices, the hand of which is inverse to that of the flow of prod. in the furnace, or in elliptical forms. Alternatively it may consist of steel chains fastened to the furnace wall, the fastenings being arranged so as to produce helicoidal alignments. In one embodiment the two ends of a casting viewed in projection on a plane perpendicular to the axis of the furnace, form between them an angle at the centre of 90 plus-or-minus 30 degrees or where the fastenings of the two points of a chain form an angle at the centre of 90 plus-or-minus 30 degrees R. The thermal economiser increases the throughput to the furnace and hence the yield of cement.</p> |
