<p>The automatic remote controlled closing system for a side hung gate or similar, uses a drive unit with an electric motor (2) and a rubber tyred road wheel (5), mounted on the bottom rail of the gate. A box housing (1) contains the motor with reduction gearing (3) and electric control gear (11). The mounting allows it to pivot about a horizontal axis (7) to limit the road wheel reaction. The electric circuit may include a relay (11) for motor inversion, actuated by an electric signal at a terminal. End of run ramp-actuated plunger switches may act on the motor to terminate gate movements, and voltage drop or increase at the terminal may initiate movements. A common feed may supply both the motor and the terminal, being controlled by manual or remote means.</p> |
