The combined chair bed for small children comprises a back rest (10), a seat (12) and a foot rest (14) which are connected together so that each adjoining element can be moved relative to the other. A support rod (22) with arm rests (24) is connected to the back rest and foot support whilst a locking rod (32) is connected to the support rod (22) and back rest (24). When the middle part of the locking rod is moved between a number of locking positions along the backrest, the backrest, seat and foot support can occupy numerous different positions. In this way the unit can be extended to form a bed, folded up flat for easy storage and transport or set in various angled sitting positions.
