<p>An electric motor is designed for economical construction. The air-gap in the magnetic circuit between the rotating and stationary parts is plane, and lies at right angles to the motor shaft. The rotor is surrounded by a band of impregnated glass fibre (9) and contains a set of conductors (6). It contains a set of laminations (8) and a set of brakes (10). These brushes rotate outside coils (12) wound on poles (11) mounted on the stator (13).</p> |
