The grid shaped lighting fitting system has coated strips with projections and slots for connection with similar coated plates for forming the structure. The clamping brackets are fastened without tools and ensure reliable electrical connection. No additional protection is used. The metallic holding plate (4) carries a spring (5) held on the turned over edges (21, 22) of the side plate (2). The spring (5) or the holding plate (4) are pressed against a noncoated end edge of a plate or transverse member (32) by spring action. The U shaped wire springs (5) are on the holding plate (4). The free end of the spring connects the upper side plate edge (21). The curved lower part is pressed against the uncoated edge of the plate(32) projecting through a slot.
