Aircraft landing monitor display system - uses projectors each of which emit three coloured beams, with beam signal code used to indicate landing instructions

The aircraft landing system uses at least three project-perpendicularly aligned to the landing direction. Each projector has three identical horizontal coloured sectors whose parallel optical axes are inclined from the horizontal. The projectors emit three parallel beams directed towards the aircraft to be guided. The furthest right and the furthest left parts of the beams seen are alternatively cut off and the median zone is permanently illuminated. Two successive cutoffs of the same duration of the same part of the beam are followed by illumination of this part for half the cutoff time period. Successive illumination of the furthest left parts of the beams coming from the furthest left projector are separated by an extinction of duration equal to that of the illumination period. Succesive illumination of the beam parts from the farthest right projector are separated by an extinction of duration equal to that of illumination. The angle of descent is indicated to the pilot by the coloured sectors. Direction of descent is indicated by winking the projectors, then successive illumination in an order which indicates to the pilot without ambiguity how to correct his trajectory.
