The articulated vehicle comprises two carriage bodies (10, 110). Their neighbouring ends are each pivotably mounted on a bogie (20, 120) with a single axle (2), so that the bodies (10, 110) may pivot independently. A bar (112) transmits the traction or pressure forces between the bodies (10, 110). A telescopic link (114, 115) between the bogies (20, 120) keeps their axles in parallel alignment over curved paths. The articulated rail vehicle replaces long carriages which present the risk of derailment when they are directly coupled to a locomotive at the head of a train. <IMAGE>
