In the drum assembly of a clothes dryer, the drum is aligned at a slight angle to the electrodes which measure the humidity in the drum, to excerise drum control. The construction allows the humidity in the drum to be measured positively, even if the drum is only partially loaded. The drum is aligned at an angle of 1-6 degrees to position its central axis against the horizontal.
