PURPOSE:To improve the high-speed property and reliability of an optical switch by providing an elastic coupling means which fixes the 1st and 2nd optical fiber fixing members in a state where the pair of optical fibers are confronted with each other in the direction of the optical axis and holding the optical fibers to be coupled with each other at regular intervals. CONSTITUTION:A block body 14 is fixed to one end of a platy elastic body 19 in a state where guide pins 12 and 13 are inserted into the guide body 14. A platy member B having a prescribed interval is put on the coupling end face of the block body 14, the 1st and 2nd optical fiber connecting members 8 and 9 are fixed in a facing state, then viserted into the guide pins 12 and 13 and fixed. After the members 8 and 9 are fixed at a prescribed interval, the platy member B is removed and an optical switch element is fixed. Since the interval between the coupling end faces can be stabilized to the minimum in such way, the high-speed property and reliability of the optical switch can be improved. |
