The adjustable holder is used for a lighting fitting housing. A clamping holder encloses a circular cross section holding rod. This adjustable holder is of relatively simple design and is readily fitted and has good appearance. A clamping sleeve (26) has an eccentric bore for accommodating the holding rod. The sleeve is held in a seat inside the holder (10). The seat holding sleeve in the holder has a circular arc cross section of a radius equal to or slightly greater than the outside radius of the clamping sleeve (26).
