PURPOSE:To facilitate hot dipping metal exchange, etc. and to carry out hot dipping with good work efficiency by storing supplied molten metal at the contact point between a coating roll and a stemming device and by rotating the roll to contact it to a moving steel strip. CONSTITUTION:Steel strip 1 enters hot dipping chamber 3 through a pretreatment furnace and contacts to coating roll 5 through deflector roll 4 to hot dip strip 1. On the other hand, molten metal is pumped out of tank 7 with pump 8. After precisely regulating the flow rate with flow rate regulator 10, the metal reaches supply hole 12 through piping 11, flows down along distributor 13, stores at the contact point between roll 5 and stemming roll 14, passes through the point by rotation of the rolls, forms a molten metal film on roll 5, and attaches to strip 1. It is desirable to constitute a stemming device by setting stemming plate 15 between or in the vicinity of the upper end parts of thr rolls while in contact with the rolls. |
