The data from the digital measuring device (M) are transferred in parallel into a parallel/serial converter (1) and transferred character by character sequentially to a code converter (2) which translates them into the code of the computer (C). An extraction pulse coder (5), a key line selector (7) and an extraction pulse comparator (6) ensure that the recoded data are transferred to the computer (C) at the correct time via a level adaptor (8). A control section (3) and an input logic (4) control the data transfer sequences between measuring device (M) and code converter (2). The device creates a simple and variable capability of connecting digital measuring instruments of virtually any type to relatively small desk computers. <IMAGE>
