<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of altering setting conditions in the direction of fixing jam removal in case where fixing jams occur two or more times in succession, thereby suppressing an occurrence of a fixing jam thereafter and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: an ascending/descending driver 12 that brings a pressure roller 4 into firm contact with a heat roller 3; and a control circuit 13 by which out of the heating temperature value of a temperature control section 9, the driving speed value of a driver 10, and the firm contact value of the ascending/descending driver 12, the heating temperature value of the temperature control section 9 is changed in the direction of fixing jam removal in preference to the others after fixing jams are detected by a fixing jam detection sensor 7 a predetermined number of times or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
