This invention discloses a method for manufacturing a multi-layer sliding material, said method substantially comprising laying and distributing metal powder which contains aluminum as a main component thereof, uniformly on a steel plate or a steel plated with Ni or the like in the form of a multi-layer composite metal plate, cold rolling the metal powder loaded plate and then sintering the same into a sufficiently bonded composite material. In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a multi-layer sliding material which has high adhesion between the steel plate and the sintered metal powder, is excellent in fatigue resistance and is satisfactory in surface properties as well as a method for manufacturing said multi-layer sliding material in a simple and inexpensive manner. |
