PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for inspecting a tire that accurately determines the existence/non-existence of belt end meandering and shortens the time required for inspection. SOLUTION: A belt cord region in which each belt cord BC in an image imaged by an imaging device 20 is imaged is determined, and, when respective dimensions L1 of the image width direction of the range having a pair of end determination lines OL1 for determining the end of the image width direction, become longer than a reference dimension L0 (for example, 25 mm), it is determined that belt end meandering arises in the tire T whose transmission X ray image is imaged. For example, therefore, when the belt end meandering arises so that the dimension L1 of the image width direction of the range having at least one end determination line OL becomes longer than 30 mm, of the end determination lines OL1, the dimension L1 of the image width direction of the range having the end determination line OL1, becomes longer than the reference dimension L0, and it is determined that belt end meandering arises.
