The soil probing device has a driving head thrusting a probe into the ground, this comprising one or more tubes inside which a bar slides equipped with a measuring cone at the bottom. Hydraulic devices thrust the bar out separately and measure the force required. The bar (7) is coupled to a piston (11) working in a cylinder (12) which can be connected to a pressure source, and held stationary via a load measuring cell (3) in relation to the thrusting mechanism.
