<p>PURPOSE:For preventing an underground tank from failing due to frozen soil, to make satisfactorily smooth slide of the outer surface thereof on soil by covering a proper range of the outer surface of the underground portion of the side wall thereof with a material small in contact strength with soil. CONSTITUTION:A sliding member 8 is made to ensure smooth slide of the outer face of a tank on soil by winding or sticking with a special adhesive polyethylene fluoride sheet small in contact strength with soil round or on the proper range of the outer surface of the portion buried under ground surface 01 of the side wall of said tank. Frozen soil tends to lift up an outer tank 1. Since said sliding member 8 slides smoothly on frozen soil, however, lifting force does not work on said outer tank 1. Therefore, only frozen soil rises but said outer tank 1 remains at the inital position thereof due to the weights thereof as well as of storage liquid 9 and the others. Thus, the bottom section of said tank can be prevented from failure without causing any inconvenience.</p> |
