The standing-crop mower has a tractor-mounted frame with two or more cutting rotors. Each of these comprises a drum with a collar at the bottom on which a number of knives are mounted, and resting on the ground via a central dish-shaped support underneath. The knives (11) on the collar (13) extend horizontally, and the edge of the support (10) can extend outwards beyond that of the collar. Each knife can be twisted, with its horizontal cutting edge (11') at the bottom.
