<p>APPLICATION FOR LETTERS PATENT FOR DIPHENYLBUTYLPIPERIDINES Novel 4,4-diphenylbutyl-1-(4-benzoyl-4-hydroxy or acyloxy)-piperidines and acid addition salts thereof, useful as central depressants, e.g., neuroleptics (antipsychotics), are disclosed. Methods of making same, pharmaceutical compositions thereof, a method of treating therewith, and important and novel intermediates for the production thereof, namely, 4-benzoyl-4-hydroxypiperidines, are also disclosed, as well as 4-benzoyl-1-(4,4-diphenyl-butyl)-piperidines, which are also useful intermediates.</p> |
