PURPOSE:To realize an extremely-useful sound-data hybrid terminal equipment by assigning excess time slots for the use of other digital signals by coding a sound signal into several bits except eight bits. CONSTITUTION:Hybrid terminal equipment 1, connecting to telephone set 2 and data terminal 3 at one terminal and to subscriber's line 4 connected to station equipment 5 at the other, is provided with a coding unit and a decoding unit. In this equipment 1, a sound signal is coded into seven or six bits other than eight bits by switch 15 to assign excess time slots for the use of other digital signals. Consequently, an extremely usuful sound-data hybrid terminal equipment can be obtained. |
