PURPOSE:To let liquid drops be produced at high efficiency in sufficient response even to high frequency signals by shutting or opening ink influent path and liquid chamber by a means making contact to or detaching from a pressurizing means which pressurizes recording ink and lets the same be flown as liquid drops through orifice. CONSTITUTION:A recording head 1 consists of an influent path 2 for recording ink, a discharge orifice 3, a liquid chamber 4 communicating to the influent path 2 and orifice 3, a pressurizing means 5 constituting a part of the wall surface of this liquid chamber and giving pressure to the ink in the liquid chamber 4 and a means 6 shutting or opening between the influent path 2 and liquid chabmer 4. The pressurizing means 5 consists of a disphragm 8 mounted to the body 7 so as to seal the liquid chabmer 4, a pezoelectric element 9 in close contact therewith and lead electrodes 10, 11 giving electric signal to this element 9. When the electric signals are given from the lead electrodes 10, 11, the diaphragm 8 vibrates and discharges the ink in the liquid chamber 4 as liquid drops through the orifice under pressure. When the means 6 makes contact to the pressurizing means 5, it shuts the liquid chamber 4 off from the influent path 2 to hermetically close the same, thereby increasing the internal pressure and forming liquid drops at high efficiency. |
