Herbicidally active 1,2,4-triazolidin-3-ones of the following formula <IMAGE> in which R<1> and R<2> are as defined in Claim 1, are prepared. These compounds are obtained by reacting a semicarbicide which carries the substituents R<1> and R<2> with formaldehyde at room temperature up to 50 DEG C, during which process cyclisation takes place. The compounds mentioned can be used in herbicides. |
