Mine support structure enclosing hydraulic cushion - has wooden and metal beams between floor and roof members

The mine support has a flexible hydraulic cushion (1) with a height to half horizontal perimeter ratio of less than about 1/8. Between floor (2) and roof (6) members are four vertical adjustable support beams (3) with upper parts (5) sliding inside lower parts (4), locked by clamps (7), and enclosing the cushion. Above and below the cushion are wooden upper beams (14) and lower beams (11) which can adapt to the shape tof the cushion. Under the lower beams is a structure with I beams (12) at right angles to each other, resting on the floor members. Between the upper members and the roof members is another structure made from I beams (16) with welded on locking and guide blocks (17). The bottom parts of the vertical supports are also secured by horizontal tie rods (13).
