PURPOSE:To prevent short-circuit accident due to infiltration of foreign matters by means of a trap mechanism for catching thereof in the tank otherwise causing the deterioration in insulating strength formed on a field relaxing shield at the section of the horizontal and vertical conductor in the tank. CONSTITUTION:A field relaxing shield 5 is provided at the connection of a vertical conductor 3 and a horizontal conductor 4 arranged in a vertical tank 1 and a horizontal tank 2 filled with an insulating gas. For example, a opening 5a is formed on the top hereof with a closed bottom to make a trap mechanism. With such an arrangement, when a foreign matter mingled into the vertical tank 1 falls for some reasons, it is drawn toward the vertical conductor 3 by a static power due to electrolytic strength so as to move down into the shield 5 through the opening 5a. In this manner, the foreign matter can be catched accurately thereby preventing the deterioration in the resulting insulating strength. |
