PURPOSE:An additive for a detergent capable of making materials to be washed clean and flexible, being used together with an anionic surface active agent, consisting of a cationic surface active agent of a quaternary ammonium salt type, an anionic polymer, and a water-soluble cationic nitrogen-containing polymer. CONSTITUTION:A additive for a detergent consisting of A) a cationic surface active agent of a quaternary ammonium salt type shown by the formula I (R1-4 are alkyl, oxyalkyl, polyoxyalkylene, or benzyl, one or two of R1-4 are 8-22C long- chain alkyl; X is halogen), B) carboxylmethylcellulose and/or polyacrylic acid as an anionic polymer in an amount 1-5 times as much as that required to neutralize electric charges in the ingredient A, and C) a water soluble cationic nitrogen-containing polymer [a quaternary nitrogen-containing cellulose ether derivative a cationic cellulose, etc.) having a cationic electric charge defined by the formula II not less than 0.0005 in an amount 1/10-1 as much as that of ingredient A) An amount of the ingredient A is not less than 5 wt.% based on the total additive. |
