<p>Support for an electromechanical transducer for automatic railway signalling equipment comprises a holder made of polyester resin with laminated reinforcement and incorporating the heads of a pair of metallic (steel) anchorage studs. The heads have an area 5-15 times greater than the cross-section of the studs, pref. are perforated for penetration by the matrix resin. Pref. the holder is moulded using a mixt. contg. approx. 35 wt.% each of polyester resin and of glass fibres reinforcement (50 mm. chopped fibres), the remainder being e.g. chalk or clay-based filler. Used for mfr. of holders with good resistance to vibrations, esp. those induced in rails by high speed trains.</p> |
