<p>The machine for manufacturing steel wheel rims for motor vehicles consists of side posts mounted on a rigid base with a cross head on top of the side posts. One of the base is a turntable driven by a series of gears, the turntable mounting a pair of shaped dies between which the cylindrical wheel blank is gripped. A cylinder on the cross head is used to support a punch. In the middle of the punch is a rotating ring of the same diameter as the inside of the blank. The punch consits of an upper and lower part and eccentric rollers which can be moved against the rotating blank thus forming it against the die to form the rim.</p> |
