<p>The eddy current type of brake is used on a vehicle. The stator is mounted on the vehicel and the rotor is fixed on a transmission shaft. The stator has ah assembly of induction coils, their axes parallel to the rotor axis. Two coils give fields which are opposed, and the rotor has a disc with its edge near the coils. The stator has transverse plates transverse to the rotation axis with coils at the end of them, in slotted formation. The stator core is of magnetic material.</p> |
