<p>The electronic time display through a decorative natural or synthetic precious stone is for wrist watch. The stone has a reflective backing layer which prevents the optoelectronic figuring from being seein when not in use and when being illuminated from the front by strong light levels. The jewel (43) has a matching glass plate (44) fitted behind it, its forward or rear surface having a vacuum deposited layer of gold (46) the thickness of which is dependant on the display source colour (41).
