The pick-up baler proper is driven by a hydraulic motor, in turn driven from the engine of the self-propelled chassis. Continuous bale loading can be by means of a travelling elevator with hydraulically-driven chain. The load can be formed by a movable cage on a platform removable from the vehicle, being halted by a rope-controlled shutter when in the bottom position.
