Chemically and/or biologically active materials useful in industrial processes are agglomerated in a mixt. of two water soluble organic reagents have different intrinsic viscosities by crosslinking the whole, using a suitable bi-functional crosslinking agent. Suitable water-soluble reagents include alginates, PVA, polyacrylamide, gelatine, and albumin. The binding agent may be a di-nitrogen cpd., dialdehyde or an epichlorohydrin. The process is suitable for agglomerating agents useful in extrn., sepn. and ion exchange processes, and also enzymes, antibodies and hormones. |
