The subsoil pipe laying machine is attached to a conventional agricultural tractor by means of the three-point coupling. Insertion of the pipe laying machine in the ground is effected by means of the tractors double action elevator gear, ancillary attachments being utilised in the absence of such gear. The range of effective working depths may be increased by substituting the elevator pillars by simple or double action hydraulic jacks, the inclination of the machine to the horizontal being controlled by a hydraulic ram connected at the third coupling point.
