The present invention relates to an axle counter system. The system includes: a wheel detecting sensor which adheres to a rail to detect a wheel of a railroad car; and a sensor control unit which determines whether the railroad car enters and, at the same time, whether the wheel detecting sensor is detached from the rail based on a detection signal detected by the wheel detecting sensor. The wheel detecting sensor comprises a resonance magnetic sensor. The sensor control unit includes: an oscillator circuit which oscillates a resonant frequency to the wheel detecting sensor; a sensor driving circuit which drives the wheel detecting sensor by using the frequency oscillated by the oscillator circuit; a wheel detecting circuit which detects whether the railroad car enters by using the detection signal received from the wheel detecting sensor; a detecting sensor installation defect sensing circuit which controls a train detection signal so that the train detection signal is not generated when the wheel detecting sensor is displaced from a normal installation position; and an amplification circuit which amplifies a signal of the wheel detecting circuit and the detecting sensor installation defect sensing circuit.
