[Problem] To envelope an optical fiber bundle with press-wrapping tape while guiding said optical fiber bundle. [Solution] This former is characterized by being provided with (A) a guide pipe which guides an optical fiber bundle configured from multiple optical fibers, and (B) a tape forming unit which, while guiding the press-wrapping tape along a supply direction, imparts a spiral shape to the strip-shape press-wrapping tape. The tape forming unit is provided with a curving portion which gradually curves the strip-shape press-wrapping tape while guiding the press-wrapping tape along the supply direction, and with a spiraling portion which is a spiral tube-shaped portion downstream from the position where the two ends of the curving portion intersect. While guiding the press-wrapping tape in the supply direction, the spiraling portion imparts a spiral shape to the press-wrapping tape by overlapping both ends of the press-wrapping tape curved at the curving portion, and gradually narrows the outer radius of the spiral press-wrapping tape. (C) The outlet of the guide pipe is arranged downstream of the position where the two ends of the curving portion intersect. |
