PURPOSE:To reduce the volume of a reactive power controller of rapid response characteristic by additionally providing a reactive energy forecasting device and a reactive energy forecasting controller and absorbing the reactive power according to the forecast. CONSTITUTION:There are provided a forecasting device 10 which forecasts the reactive energy generated in a power source feeder 5 and a reactive energy forecasing controller 11 which feeds an operation control signal to a non-utility generation device 8 using a tip end arrival signal of a rolled body 2 fed from a material detector 9 and a reactive energy forecast signal fed from the forecasting device 10, so that the major portion of the reactive energy generated in the power source system is absorbed by the device 8. Because the major portion of the reactive energy is absorbed by a reactive power absorbing device such as the non-utility generation device 8, the volume of a reactive power compensating device of rapid response characteristic is reduced. |
