<p>In the regeneration of exhausted weak base anion exchange resins which have been treated with a regenerant soln. to restore the anion exchange capacity of the resins, with prodn. of regenerant waste prods., the resin is then (a) washed with water to remove part of the waste prods. and finally (b) washed with a CO2 soln. to remove further amts. of waste prods. The resins pref. contain prim., sec. and/or tert. amine gps. The resin is regenerated by means of a soln. of NaOH, Na2CO3 or NH4OH. The CO2 soln. is prepd. by saturating water with CO2 at room temp. and pressure. The use of the resins is the refining of corn syrups. Regeneration requires a relatively short time. The life of the resin is increased. The total amt. of prod. refined per foot3 of resin is greater.</p> |
