The grab used on cranes for holding of loads of different dimensions, has symmetrical pivoted arms. Wide and heavy loads are held with high gripping force and the smaller narrower loads with correspondingly lower gripping force. In the middle of each pair of grab arms (5) is placed a bar (7) pivoted on the arms. The free ends of the bars (7) are pivoted together on a longitudinally sliding hydraulic cylinder piston (8). This system slides between the arms (5). The cylinder (9) is fastened on the grab body (4), between the pairs of arms.
