The hydraulic lifting machine is used for actuating tools attached to the hydraulic drive of an agricultural traction vehicle. The lifting arm (4) pivoted on the piston rod (3a) is connected with the lifting shaft (5) at such a relative position that the lifting side working chamber (3c) of the cylinder (3) is penetrated by the piston rod (3a). the thrust side working chamber (3d) can be connected to the hydraulic auxiliary drive. The pressurised fluid circuit of the blocking element (24) has a flow limiting valve (22) whose maximum flow rate is somewhat smaller than the minimum delivery rate of the pump (12) when the traction vehicle engine idles.
