A composite profile with high insulation value is constructed in a non-releasable manner from parallel metal profiles and heat-insulating clamping elements. An inner, metallic coupling profile (9) is arranged between two outer metal profiles (7, 8), the three profiles being braced flexibly with respect to one another by the clamping elements. In addition, the coupling profile has, on each side, a longitudinal rib pair (11, 12) which is located opposite an associated longitudinal rib pair (13, 14) of the outer metal profiles (7, 8). The spaced-apart clamping elements are arranged between the outer metal profiles (7, 8) and the coupling profile (9) and they engage behind the associated longitudinal rib pairs (11, 13 and 12, 14) of the outer metal profiles and the coupling profile. This design of the composite profile results in two hollow chambers (18, 19) which are located one beside the other and have quiescent air, a high insulation value thus being achieved. <IMAGE>
