The appts includes a guide path and transport rollers, or similar members, for conveying sheet members through the exposure station with the exposure system for the marks consisting of an assembly of lamps. The guide path includes first and second transparent plates mounted on respective sides of the sheet members as they pass through the station, with the plate assembly supporting a row of lamps. The row extends in a direction transverse to the direction of travel of the sheets, and are connected to control circuitry through individual cables, so that lines in a desired pattern arrangement may be produced in accordance with the energising of the lamps etc.
